The Emmys: who wore what?

The hottest of the hottest television and movie stars roamed Hollywood on Sunday 23rd, as the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre.

Never mind who won what and who went with who, the real question is, who were the best dressed ladies on the red carpet?

Mad Men actress, January Jones, looked fierce in a gorgeous Zac Posen black gown, with black peep-toe heels and a black clutch. Now that is how to rock the goth look on the red-carpet, without looking too scary.

Zac Posen dresses were also worn by several others. For example Kiernan Shipka, the 12 year old actress from Mad Men, who wore a shimmering, below the knee length dress, which was perfect for her age as she didn’t look too old. Whereas reality star, turned fashion designer, actress and singer, Kelly Osbourne, also went for the goth look like January Jones, in a slim-fit gown, teamed with a black clutch.

Zooey Deschanel and Heidi Klum were both wearing the same shade dress, but completely different styles. Deschanel wore a sweetheart neckline and tiered tulle gown, custom made for her by Reem Acra. Whereas Klum wore a thigh-high slit dress, with a low neckline. Even though I never usually like these cut dresses, I must admit, Klum looked stunning!

There was only one Louis Vuitton dress on the red carpet, and it was worn by Downtown Abbey actress and Emmy nominee,  Michelle Dockery. The cobalt gown looked flawless on the British actress.

Pregnant Claire Danes walked the red carpet and later collected her award for her role in Homeland, in a yellow Lanvin gown, worn with gold bangles and Barbara Bui sandals.
