Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge – Winner Announced

So, the beginning of this month (7th July) saw the Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge take place in Paris. Showcasing the works of designers from all parts of the World including Norway, Pakistan, Canada and the USA this truely was an event to remember, being judged by some of the fashion industry’s top professionals including Barry Laden, Artem Balaev and Olivia Pinnock.
Beautiful models, stunning fashion and amazing styling made the show a night to remember along with the true buzz of tough competition and determination. The show was spilt into 3 simple segments; Past, Present & Future which allowed each designer to present thier different cultures along with displaying their own take on fashion trends.
The event featured 5 designers; Rudy Wolff (Norway), Jamie Ochrey (USA), Kristi Vosbek (Canada), Christine Manthey (USA), and the Nayna Fashion House (Pakistan).
Thanks to the organisers; HYPE Fashions (France) and SYNERGY Events (New York) the show was a roaring success and had an amazing team hard at work behind the scenes including; stylists from London leading a team of British and French make-up & hair stylists, and a whole crew from around the world; a truly international team!
After an amazing show featuring some fabulous designs the judges had a (VERY!!!) tough job cut out for them… They had to pick a winner! They took their time in making this very difficult decision and in the end announced the runners up; Rudy Wolff and Kristii Vosbeck…..         and then announcing Christine Manthey the winner! Winning a trophy and $5,000 USD!
(a well deserved prize)

The Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge

So, this year I got an invite to a very exciting event in Paris…
The Emerging trends Fashion Challenge.
Hosted by a collaboration with SYNERGY Events and HYPE Fashion Show Production and Marketing the idea for this event first came about in March earlier this year and is to take place on the 7th July 2012 in Pairs, France.
The Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge is set to bring global attention to the evolving fashion market in Europe and women’s apparel designers from all over the globe will compete for the chance to win the grand prize worth over $15,000
HYPE – an independant boutique style company based in the South of France, to present unkown designers the opportunity to create new looks to be showcased in one of the fashion capitals of the world in Paris, France.
SYNERGY – a Bostson, USA based company that constantly redifines what is vogue and redifined by its high-end events.
…two amazing companies coming together in an attempt to find the next big designer in fashion!
We are pleased to present this opportunity to global emerging talents who need the most exposure over established brands. We are looking forward to helping launch unknown brands by casting the spotlight in Paris, one of the fashion meccas in Europe and the city of romance and sophistication.” -Reaz Hoque, The SYNERGY Events.
There are 3 amazing and talented judges for the competition and they include:
Artem Balawv – co-founder and General Producer of Aurora fashion week in Russia.
Barry Laden – British fashion entrepreneur, who created the Laden Showroom.
Julissa Matrich – produced shows for New York, Amsterdam and Curacao fashion weeks.
Unfortunately, I am unable to make it to the actual event in Paris (work commitments) but on the plus side my blog is going to be added as one of HYPE fashions official media partners (exciting!)
This means that I will be able to keep all you lovely people updated with how the Emerging Trends fashion challenge pans out and who wins this amazing opportunity! …so keep your eyes peeled for my next blog post!

Come As You Are

I don’t know how most people feel about fashion today, but I have always felt there is never enough grunge! …everything always seems quite prim & proper, and don’t get me wrong I loved the floral trends and the floaty dresses but I can’t help but think sometimes… “what happened to the grunge?”

I personally feel I would have been in my element in the 90’s… when Nirvana were fresh on the scene, and it was cool to not care too much about your appearance (although everyone secretly cared). Its as though today we all have to try too hard, everything is buttoned all the way up and tucked in nice and neat… or so I thought!

…until I discovered this spring/summer 2012 collection that has officially 100% brought back the grunge!

Allow me to introduce you to Ksubi …my new favorite collection of 2012.

Let’s get Graphic

So this week it’s all about the Graphic Tee!

It seems that the graphic printed t-shirt is quickly becoming a massive trend in men’s fast fashion and everyone is having a go at producing them… from designers such as Comme des Garcons (available in Selfridges) to high street brands such as Topman there is most definitely a tee out there for everyone!

It’s not just the everyday brands that have caught my eye though… it’s the new, fresh up-and-coming brands, focusing on creating graphic printed tees, sweats and hoodys.

So, just for you fashion concious guys out there I’ve put together a list of my favorite graphic tee brands of the moment. Take a look and tell me whet you think, and if you’ve got any new brands I haven’t mentioned be sure to let me know!

Hope you enjoy…

Featured Brands Include:

Serge DeNimes

Friend or Faux

New Love Club

Age of Aquarius

Worn by

Long Clothing

…and remember just because these tee’s are aimed at guys it doesn’t mean us girls can’t invest in them too! I’m particularly loving the Long Clothing selection of tees as they’d make a perfect t-shirt dress teamed with some funky tights and a pair of docs.
