La Vie Est Belle by LancomePosted: May 20, 2012
Lancome is launching its newest women’s fragrance, La Vie Est Belle, this fall. La Vie Est Belle joins Lancome favourites Tresor, Hypnose and Miracle Forever. The face of La Vie Est Belle is long-time brand ambassador, Julia Roberts.
La Vie Est Belle represents a natural and simple beauty. It allows the wearer to choose their own vision of happiness and take pleasure in the small things. It is described as a gourmand fruity-floral fragrance. La Vie Est Belle has top notes of pear and black currant, heart notes of iris, jasmine and orange blossom, and base notes of patchouli, praline, tonka bean and vanilla.
La Vie Est Belle was created by legendary perfumers Olivier Polge and Dominique Ropion. It took them three years and over 5000 versions to create the final formula for La Vie Est Belle. Both men have worked on Lancome fragrances in the past, Ropion created the Tresor line and both Ropion and Polge collaborated on Miracle Forever. Olivier Polge is the son of famed perfumer Jacques Polge (house perfumer at Chanel) and winner of the 2009 International Fragrance Prize. Dominique Ropion studied at the Roure Bertrand Dupont and won Cosmetic Valley’s International Fragrance Prize in 2008.
Julia Roberts became a global ambassador for Lancome in 2009. In 2010 she extended her contract for an additional 5 years. La Vie Est Belle is the first fragrance Roberts has represented. Roberts says about the perfume, “The perfume smells so good, which is the only reason I agreed to it. I believe in smelling good, and as my husband said, ‘people will think this is what you smell like’… It is a small-town girl’s dream to be in a place like this. Thank you all for being part of it.”
The official reveal of La Vie Est Belle was earlier this month at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in St Jean Cap Ferrat. The party invited guests to sample teaser elements of the fragrance, snack on champagne and canapes and enjoy the beautiful villa gardens. A crystal chandelier dispensed drops of the perfume on the upturned wrists of the attendees.
La Vie Est Belle launches worldwide in September 2012. The campaign featuring Julia Roberts was shot by iconic photographer Tarsem Singh.
